M. abductor pollicis brevis
the short thumb abductor located in the thenar. In contrast to the abductor pollicis longus muscle, which abducts the thumb radially, the abductor pollicis brevis abducts the thumb palmarwards.
Origin: tuberculum ossis scaphoidei and retinaculum flexorum
Attachment: radial sesamoid bone and proximal phalanx of the thumb
Innervation: Nervus medianus from Plexus brachialis from C8 and Th1
Antagonists:
Movement: Abduction of the thumb towards the palmar side
