dthe long thumb abductor originating in the forearm. In contrast to the abductor pollicis brevis muscle, which abducts the thumb in a palmar direction, the abductor pollicis longus abducts the thumb in a radial direction
Origin: posterior surface of radius and ulna, interosseous membrane
Attachment: Os metacarpale 1 and proximal phalanx of the thumb
Innervation: Ramus profundus from Nervus radialis frmo Plexus brachialis from C7 und C8
Antagonists:
Movement: Abduction of the thumb radially
