Short flexor of the big toe, two heads: caput medialis, caput lateralis
Origin: medial os cuneiforme, tendon of the posterior tibialis muscle
Attachment:

  1. medial head via medial sesamoid bone to medial dorsal proximal phalanx and analogous
  2. lateral head over lateral sesamoid bone to lateral dorsal proximal phalanx of the hallux

Innervation: Nervus plantaris medialis, lateral head by nervus plantaris lateralis, both from N. tibialis
Antagonists:
Movement: Plantar flexion of the big toe
