Mm. lumbricales (Hand)

An important muscle for the fine motor skills of the hand
Origin: tendons of the flexor digitorum profundus muscle
Insertion: Radial side of each finger in the area of the dorsal aponeurosis
Innervation: both radial lumbricales: nervus medianus from plexus brachialis from C8, Th1; both ulnar lumbricales: ramus profundus of nervus ulnaris from Plexus brachialis from C8 and Th1
Antagonists:
Movement: Flexion of the metacarpophalangeal joints with simultaneous extension of the metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints
