yogabook / muscles / subcostalis
Subcostal muscles that connect the ribs and extend from the tuberbulum costae of one rib to the angulus costae of the cranially adjacent rib and have an expiratory effect. In some cases, the subcostales also tense over another rib, i.e. to the next rib but one. The subcosteles are most pronounced in the lower part of the ribcage.
