Origin:

  1. caput obliquum: os cuboideum, os cuneiforme laterale, metatarsals 2,3;
  2. caput transversum: capsular ligaments of the metatarsophalangeal joints 3-5 and lig. metatarsale transversum profundum

Attachment: lateral sesamoid bone of the hallux
Antagonists:
Movement: Tensioner of both the longitudinal arch of the foot (caput obliquum) and the transverse arch of the foot (caput transversum), adduction and plantar flexion of the hallux
