Mm. interspinales

Interspinous process muscles, on both sides of the interspinous ligament; together with the spinalis muscle, they belong to the interspinous system or medial tract of the erector spinae and are subdivided into interspinales cervicis, interspinales thoracis and interspinales lumborum, depending on the section of the spinal column.
Origin: spinous processes
Attachment: spinous processes of the next caudal vertebral body
