M. supinator
the only supinator of the forearm located in the forearm. Between the part arising at the medial epicondyle of the humerus and the part arising broadly at the ulna lies the Frohse arcae, through which the interosseous posterior nerve runs, a purely motor branch of the ramus produndus of the radial nerve. Compression of the nerve at this point causes nerve compression syndrome, supinator ligament syndrome, compression further along causes radial tunnel syndrome
Origin: Epicondylus lateralis humeri, crista m. supinatoris ulnae, lig. collaterale radiale, lig. annulare radii
Attachment: Anterior surface of the radius between tuberositas radii and attachment of pronator teres muscle
Innervation: Ramus profundus of nervus radialis from Plexus brachialis from C5 und C6
Antagonists:
Movement: supination forearm
