supraspinatus tendon syndrome (SSTS)

Definition

SSPS is generally an insertional tendinopathy with a possible component of constriction syndrome(nerve compression syndrome). It belongs to the group of subacromial syndromes SAS, which includes degenerative or traumatic changes to the rotator cuff such as the long biceps tendon and/or the subacromial bursa or subdeltoid bursa. Subacromial impingement is usually present, but this term does not do full justice to the phenomenon.
