Forms the lateral edge of the foot
Origin: lateral process of the anterior lower outer calcaneus, underside of the calcaneus, tuberositas os metatarsale V and plantar aponeurosis
Attachment: plantar proximal phalanx
Innervation: first branch of nervus plantaris lateralis (Baxter-nerve) from N. tibialis from Plexus sacralis from S1 and S2
Antagonists:
Movement: supports the arch of the foot, plantar flexion of the lesser toe and slight abduction
