Mm. rotatores
Rotatores: depending on the section of the WS, the Rotatores can be divided into three groups: thoracis, lumborum, cervicis. The rotatores breves are the shorter ones, spanning a segment, the rotatores longi spanning the longer, two segments. The rotatures are more profound than the multifidi. Depending on their location, they move to the thorn processes further cranially located vertebrae from their
origins:
– thoracis: processus transversus of a vortex.
– cervicis: Processus articularis
– lumborum: Processus mamillaris
approach: processus spinosus of a cranially located vertebra
innervation: medial branches of the rami posteriores of the segmental spinal nerves
antagonists:
Movement: Bilaterally innervated: extension of the WS; unilaterally innervated: rotation of the WS
