- on the manubrium sterni of the sternum
- at the medial end of the clavicle
- at the sternoclavicular joint.
to the lower edge of the hyoid bone, medial to the insertion of the omohyoid muscle, thus pulling the hyoid bone caudally.
Origin: Posterior side of the manubrium of the sternum
Attachment: thyroid cartilage
Innervation: branches of Plexus cervicalis (C1-C3)
