Jogging is a leisurely form of running in which longer stride lengths and higher speeds are not aimed for. In most cases, the stride length is less than about two feet long, but the stride frequency is rather high, usually between 140 and 170 per minute, which results from the stride length and take-off height on the one hand and the effect of gravity on the body over time on the other. In contrast to walking, there is a flight phase in which both feet are not on the ground.
