Transversus abdominis

the transverse, most profound abdominal muscle. It causes the abdominal press and thus enables defecation, micturition and childbirth
Origin: SIAS, crista iliaca, cartilage of ribs 7-12, fascia thoracolumbalis
Attachment: Linea alba, crista pubica
Innervation: lower Intercostal nerves, nervus ilioinguinalis, nervus iliohypogastricus
Antagonists:
Movement: Contraction of the abdomen, lowering of the ribs, expiration
