M. flexor hallucis longus
Long flexor of the big toe, whose tendon runs through the tarsal tunnel; the strongest of the deep flexors. Its tendon unites with that of the flexor digitorum longus muscle. The flexor hallucis longus thus reinforces its effect.
Origin: posterior surface of the fibula, interosseous membrane
Attachment: Terminal phalanx of the big toe
Innervation: Nervus tibialis
