Trizeps

the three-headed arm extensor consisting of the biarticular caput longum (scapulohumeral muscle of the shoulder girdle) and the monoarticular caput mediale and caput laterale; all three parts together form the only extensor of the elbow joint (with the exception of the extremely weak anconeus ). The middle part of the caput longum, which extends over the shoulder, is involved in lateral adduction and frontal adduction and also in retroversion of the arm
Origin:

  1. Caput longum: scapula (infraglenoid tubercle)
  2. Caput mediale: medial on the humerus
  3. Caput laterale: lateral to the humerus

Attachment: olecranon of the ulna
Antagonists: with regard to both arm flexion and retroversion: biceps. With regard to arm flexion: Brachialis
Movement: extensor of the elbow joint; biarticular part also: frontal adduction (counter-movement to anteversion) in the shoulder joint in the direction of normal zero and retroversion beyond this
Strengthening postures (302): bar, head down dog position : Transition to pole, downward dog stance head down . Transition to dog elbowstand, dog up: Transition to staff, dips variations of different postures such as downface dog, urdhva dhanurasana
Stretching poses (301): all heads: gomukhasana
